What is the difference between the two? and with flash memory instead of hard drives in some computers, and if not, why?

    Hard drives are electromechanical devices, flash memory cards are not. The fastest hard drive interface is the SAS, SATA is the slowest. There are different levels of performance for flash cards, and various read and write.
